About

I started this blog to share some of the information I learned with friends and family, it is my way of raising awareness for important health related issues for our time. I also wanted an easy way to share healthy recipes, and natural remedies. My interest in health started overseas, in South Korea.

When I moved to South Korea, I felt like a fish out of water. I did not know the language, the food was very strange to me, and the culture took some getting used to. The most influential food for me was kimchi. Even now when I mention this word to friends they look at me as if I have two heads. (The smell of it might send them running too, it is pretty funky).  This strange food introduced me to the world of lacto-fermented foods. Now I usually have “something” fermenting in my kitchen at least once a week

Cultured foods were an important part of my “real food” journey, but it didn’t stop there. I was surrounded by traditional foods, bone broths, organ meats, and fish roe. Living in South Korea was such a blessing for me because I spent a lot of time reading. I learned about cultures where people had extraordinary health, wide palates, and great bone structure. These people consumed food that was nutritionally dense and traditionally prepared. (They did not eat food that came out of a box).

Living in South Korea made me painfully aware of how awful the Standard American Diet is; convenience has replaced nourishment in many kitchens across America. The more I read about cultured foods, the more I became convinced they will help reverse a lot of the damage that has been done by the SAD Diet and the overuse of prescription drugs, (especially antibiotics).

If you are reading this now, chances are you are on a quest for better health. I hope you find the information on my blog helpful and useful. I truly believe that health is wealth, and that we obtain good health not only by eating the correct foods, but by nurturing our mind and soul as well.

Knowledge is powerful, and my hope is that the information I provide you with on this blog will help you on your heath journey

Hello! I stumbled across your Instagram post about healing melasma with homeopathy. Would you mind sharing a little more about that? I’ve been trying to clear up my melasma since I got pregnant with my first child. I recently started taking sepia after visiting with a local homeopath. I am super curious what worked for you and how long it took for you to see results? I also reached out on IG in case you see that too 🙂 thanks so much!

The remedy that worked for me was a constitutional remedy selected by a homeopath. I will say that homeopathic Sepia is an excellent remedy for women who are afflicted by hormonal imbalances. Something else that helped me was Cod Liver Oil, (I suspect it was the DHA), and eliminating sugar from my diet. Good luck on your journey.
